About this experience
We paddle in top-quality sit-inside kayaks, fitted for your comfort and stability. Our guides are WFR, CPR/First Aid, and Kayak 101 certified, and every tour begins with a 30–40 minute orientation before launch. (The time on your ticket is launch time.)
Enjoy stunning canyon views, professional guides, and quality gear on this up to 7-mile paddle and hike adventure. We pause at the halfway point for snacks, photos, and optional swimming.
Important: For your safety and enjoyment, please do not travel more than 150 miles on the day of your tour. Guests traveling long distances often arrive fatigued; we strongly recommend staying locally the night before.
Guests must be able to swim to participate in water activities.
Please check in the day before during business hours for weather updates and gear fitting. Paddle Express is committed to ensuring your comfort, safety, and an unforgettable experience on the water.

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
This is a good fit if you want the canyon as a water-and-walking outing, not a quick roadside stop: the plan combines paddling across Lake Powell, a short hike into Antelope Canyon, and a return paddle. I’d choose it if you’re comfortable with a moderately active day and can keep your schedule flexible. Wind can change the plan, so I wouldn’t build a tight, long-distance travel day around the launch.
Who I’d recommend it for
You don’t need previous kayaking experience, but you do need to be able to swim and manage moderate physical activity. The route involves paddling both ways as well as walking in the canyon, so it’s a better match for someone who wants an active outing than for a passenger-style sightseeing trip. The tour is listed for ages 5–62, with a 250-pound weight limit; those details are worth checking against your group before committing.
The learning element may be part of the appeal: the outing includes information about local geology and history. I’d pick this over a simple rental if having a guide and some context matters to you, while recognizing that guide experiences can vary.
Choose the group or private outing
The shared tour is the straightforward option if you’re happy to paddle with others; the listed maximum is 11 travellers. A private tour is offered for your own group with an exclusive guide, and its stated duration is five hours rather than the four-hour shared-tour duration. I’d lean private if keeping the outing within your group is important, but the extra hour is a real scheduling consideration—not a guarantee of a particular pace.
Plan around the launch, not just the ticket time
Your ticket time is the launch time, not the time to arrive. Check in at the bottom of the Antelope Point launch ramp 30 minutes beforehand for the required orientation, and contact the tour at least 24 hours ahead for confirmation and gear fitting. The stated route is five miles of paddling round trip, plus a two-thirds-mile canyon walk; the overview describes the outing as up to seven miles, so expect a substantial excursion rather than a short paddle.
My advice is to stay locally the night before if you’re coming from far away. The tour recommends not travelling more than 150 miles on the day, and weather can shift reservations by as much as 90 minutes. Bring your own water and snacks; dry bags can be requested at check-in.
The weather is the main trade-off
Wind may cancel lake activities, and a changed or cancelled plan is a meaningful possibility—not a minor inconvenience if you have travelled a long way for this outing. One account describes an alternative being offered when wind prevented canyon access; that’s encouraging, but I wouldn’t count on seeing the canyon in every condition. Leave room in your Page plans, and note that the cancellation policy provides a full refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours before departure; weather cancellations are also covered.
